Commissioned by Ferens Art Gallery as part of Francis Bacon ‘Nervous System’, 2017 – ‘Deepening the Game’ was an intergenerational engagement project which recreated Francis Bacon’s studio in one of the Ferens’ Gallery spaces. Participants were encouraged to forage amongst the imagery scattered on the floor, as Bacon did in his Reece Mews studio, to find subject matter for experimental paintings.
